Lately I have taken on translating Turkish poems to Finnish. My first poet was Orhan Veli Kanık. Orhan Veli Kanık is the pioneer of modern Turkish poetry. His poems bring mindfulness to the momentary thoughts and feelings of daily life and always warm me up when I read them.
